General Questions:

  • “What is tallow?
Tallow is a nutrient-rich, traditional fat made by rendering the suet (the hard fat around the kidneys) of grass-fed cows. When properly rendered, it becomes a creamy, shelf-stable fat that's been used for centuries in cooking, skincare, and even candle-making.

  • “Is it safe for sensitive skin or eczema?”
Absolutely! In fact, people often turn to tallow to help heal these specific skin conditions, like eczema. We lightly scent our products with pure essential oils but we also offer unscented options for those who prefer that.
We also carry an herbal infused “Baby Balm” which has incredibly healing properties without the essential oils. Marketed for babies but can be used for all. Although we use a safe ratio of essential oils in our products feel free to opt for the unscented versions to accommodate for children usage or for sensitive skin. That said, tallow balm isn’t a medical treatment. It’s best used as a gentle, natural way to support skin health alongside any treatments recommended by a healthcare professional. Always test on a patch of skin to ensure safety and never ingest these products. Keep away from pets and supervise children.

  • “Does it have a scent?” / “Do you have unscented options?”
We have multiple scent options for each of our products including unscented options and even an herbal infused option as well.

  • “Can I use this on my face?” / “Is it too greasy?”
Absolutely! This is safe to use on your whole body although my favorite is to use as a face moisturizer, and for my chapped hands or lips. Always do a patch test to ensure no irritation occurs.

  • “How long does it keep?”
6-12 months. How to best preserve it: Storing in cool, dark environments will
extend shelf life. Avoid heat and direct sunlight, which can cause separation, oxidation, or spoilage. Always leave the lid on when not using.

  • What else do I need to know about Delivery?

Tallow is a natural product and will melt if exposed to extreme heat. Please keep your eye out for your shipment to be delivered and do not allow your package to sit outside, especially on a hot, sunny day. Always keep your products out of reach of children and pets, as ingesting essential oils can be very toxic to pets.

Ingredient & Ethical Concerns:

  • “Is this all-natural?” / “What ingredients do you use?”
Yes, we only source 100% Grass fed & finished beef tallow, many of our other ingredients are certified organic and all natural.

  • “Is it organic?” / “Is it non-GMO?”
We are fully non-GMO. Not all of our ingredients are certified organic but the certified organic ingredients are clearly labeled on each product in the list of ingredients. We are always moving towards being fully certified organic as product availability and pricing for our costumers allows. Until then you can be confident that each of our essential oils that are not certified organic have gone through rigorous testing (via our supplier) to ensure purity and quality.

  • “Is this cruelty-free?”
Yes, we are animal lovers here and nothing we create has been tested on animals, nor our suppliers.

  • “What’s the difference between this and a regular lotion?”
Tallow balm is made from rendered fat of grass-fed cows and closely matches your skin’s natural oils. It’s rich, deeply nourishing, and packed with vitamins A, D, E, and K to support skin healing. Because it’s natural and minimally processed, it absorbs well and helps restore the skin barrier. Regular moisturizers usually contain water, synthetic ingredients, and preservatives, which can sometimes irritate sensitive skin. They often lack the natural nutrients found in tallow balm. Tallow balm lasts longer without preservatives and is ideal for dry, sensitive, or damaged skin. Regular moisturizers vary widely but generally provide surface hydration rather than deep repair. A little goes a long way!

Family & Skin-Sensitive Questions:

  • “Can I use this on my baby?” / “Is it safe for kids?”
YES! Feel free to try our Baby Balm, which can be used as an all-purpose moisturizing product to gently nourish your little one’s skin. Although we use a safe ratio of essential oils in our products feel free to opt for the unscented versions to accommodate for children usage. • “Will this clog my pores?”
Tallow’s fatty acid profile is very similar to the natural oils (sebum) your skin produces, it tends to absorb easily and supports healthy skin balance. That said, everyone's skin is different. If you have very oily or acne-prone skin, start by using a small amount to see how your skin reacts. Many people with sensitive or acne-prone skin find tallow balm soothing and non-comedogenic. Always give a new product a few weeks for your skin to adjust before deciding if it is right or not for you. Start small, a little goes a long way!

  • Is there a detox or adjustment period when switching to tallow?

Yes, there can be a short adjustment or "detox" period as your skin transitions away from synthetic ingredients, preservatives, and fragrance-heavy products. Tallow is highly bioavailable and nutrient-dense, meaning it nourishes the skin deeply, which may initially bring underlying issues (like dryness, clogged pores, or breakouts) to the surface.

This phase usually lasts a few days to two weeks, depending on your skin type and previous routine. During this time, it's important to:

Use a gentle cleanser (or even just warm water) Apply sparingly, a little tallow goes a long way.

Be patient, your skin may be recalibrating its oil production.

Most users report that their skin becomes more balanced, hydrated, and resilient after this transition.
